RallyChina
October 24th 2004
By
taking 2nd place overall on Rally China, Karamjit
Singh has secured his 3rd APRC title in four years.A
consistently fast pace kept Karam ahead of next Championship
placed driver Armin Kremer, who eventually finished
third.
There was much deliberation as to whether Karam has
secured his title, as it was theoretically possible
for Kremer to catch up, ending on equal Championship
points. However, under FIA rules, Karam would have
won more events than Kremer, and could therefore not
be beaten.
Co-driver Allen Oo has also secured the Co-dirvers
title with an unassailable lead over Australian Mark
Stacy. The team will compete in the last round of
the APRC in India on 4-5th December, giving Karam
the opportunity to secure the manufacturers title
for Proton.

After
a successful SS1 start to Rally Argentina, Karam and
Allen are forced to retire after substaining accident
damage on SS2. Although the new Super Rally rules allow
competitors to restart on the next leg, the damage was
too extensive to allow the team to repair it within
the allowed time scale. Team Proton PERT's next P-WRC

Canberra
Rally-May 9th 2004
2002
Asian Pacific Rally Champions Karamjit Singh and Allen
Oh were keen to make their mark on this year's Canberra
Rally, the first round of the 2004 ARRC, having been
unable to compete in the rally last year. Karam and
Allen had to concede their title in 2003 by only one
point, having only taken part in five out of the six
APRC rounds.
After 2 hard fought days over Australia's challenging
stages, the team secured maximum Championship points
in the MEM prepared Proton PERT, by taking 5th place
overall. With such a great start, the team are looking
forward to the next round in Noumea, New Caledonia on
